We, the operators of this website, take the protection of your privacy and personal data, which you make available to us, very seriously. The observance of data protection regulations is essential for us.

In the following, we inform you about our data processing activities in connection with the use of our services.

1. General Information

Personal data is all data that can be related to you personally, e.g. name, address, email address.

Controller pursuant to Article 4 No. 7 of the European General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and, therefore, responsible for the processing of your personal data when using our website or using our platform is:

2. Your rights

You have the following rights towards us under the respective legal conditions with regard to your personal data:
• the right to request access;
• the right of rectification or erasure;
• the right to restrict processing;
• the right to object to processing;
• the right to data portability.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority about our processing of your personal data.

3. Collection of personal data for the technical operation of the website

When using the website only for information purposes, i.e. if you do not register or otherwise actively provide us with information, we only collect the personal data that your browser transmits to our server. This is done in order to display the website to you and to ensure the required stability and security (legal basis is Article 6(1)f GDPR) and relates to the following data:
• IP address;
• Date and time of the server request;
• Referrer-URL;
• Access status/HTTP status code;
• Data volume transferred in each case;
• Website from which the request comes;
• Browser;
• Operating system;
• Language and version of the browser software.

When contacting us by email or via our support forms, the data you provide (your email address as well as your first and last name, possibly other voluntary information) will be stored by us in order to answer your enquiries. We delete the data accruing in this context after the storage is no longer necessary or restrict the processing if there are statutory retention obligations.

4. Use of Blog Functions and Social Media

In our blog, where we publish various articles on topics related to our activities, you can make public comments. Your comment will be published with your user name. We recommend that you use a pseudonym instead of your clear name. User name and email address are required, all other information is voluntary. When you make a comment, we continue to store your IP address, which we delete after two months. The storage is necessary for us to be able to defend ourselves against liability claims in cases of possible publication of illegal content. We need your e-mail address in order to contact you if a third party objects to your comment as illegal. The legal basis is Article 6(1) b and f GDPR. Comments will not be reviewed before publication. We reserve the right to delete comments if they are objected as being illegal by third parties.

We currently use social media plug-ins from Meta, Twitter and Google+, which are only loaded if you have previously activated the function by giving your consent. Through the plug-ins, we offer you the opportunity to interact with the social networks and other users. The legal basis for the use of the plug-ins is your consent. The revocation of your consent is possible at any time without affecting the permissibility of the processing until the revocation. The easiest way to revoke your consent is via our content manager or via the functions of the social media providers.

The plug-in provider stores the data collected about you as usage profiles and uses them for purposes of advertising, market research and/or demand-oriented design of its website. Such an evaluation is carried out in particular (also for users who are not logged in) for the display of tailored advertising and to inform other users of the social network about your activities on our website. You have the right to object to the creation of these user profiles, whereby you must contact the respective plug-in provider to exercise this right. The data transfer does not depend on whether you have an account with the plug-in provider and are logged in there. If you are logged in to the plug-in provider, the data we collect is directly assigned to your account with the plug-in provider. If you click the activated button and, for example, link to the page, the plug-in provider also saves this information in your user account and shares it publicly with your contacts. We recommend that you log out regularly after using a social network, but especially before activating the button, as this allows you to avoid an assignment to your profile with the plug-in provider.

The information collected is stored on servers of the providers, in the case of international providers also outside Europe. For these cases, the provider has, according to its own information, imposed a standard on itself that corresponds to the former EU-US Privacy Shield and has agreed to comply with applicable data protection laws in the international transfer of data. We have also agreed standard data protection clauses with the providers, the purpose of which is to ensure compliance with an appropriate level of data protection in the third country.

For more information on the purpose and scope of data collection and processing by the plug-in provider, please refer to the privacy statements of these providers. There you will also find further information on your rights in this regard and setting options for protecting your privacy. Addresses of the respective plug-in providers and URL of the respective privacy notices.

5. Newsletter

With your consent, you have the possibility to subscribe to our newsletter, in which we inform you about the expansion of our range. For the registration to our newsletter, we use the so-called double opt-in procedure. After registration, you will receive an e-mail to the e-mail address you provided, in which we ask you to confirm your subscription to the newsletter. If no confirmation is received, your data provided in this context and for this purpose will be blocked and automatically deleted. We also store the IP address you used for registration as well as the date and time of your registration and confirmation. The purpose of the storage is to prove your registration and to be able to clarify a possible misuse of your personal data.

The only mandatory information for a subscription to the newsletter is your e-mail address. After your confirmation, we store your email address for sending the newsletter. The legal basis for this is Article 6(1)a GDPR. You can revoke your consent to subscribe to the newsletter at any time.

6. Cookies & Tools

On our website, we generally use cookies and other technologies that are absolutely necessary – in your and our interest – to navigate the website, to use basic functions and to ensure the security of the website. These cookies do not collect information about you for marketing purposes, nor do they store which web pages you have visited. In addition, if we use technologies that are not absolutely necessary for the use of the website, this will only be done with your consent.

Cookies are small text files that are assigned to the browser you are using and stored on your hard drive by means of a characteristic character string, and through which certain information flows to the body that sets the cookie. Cookies cannot execute programs or transmit viruses to your computer and therefore cannot cause any damage. They serve to make the Internet offer as a whole more user-friendly and effective, i.e. more pleasant for you.

Cookies can contain data that makes it possible to recognize the device used. In some cases, however, cookies only contain information about certain settings that are not personally identifiable. However, cookies cannot directly identify a user. A distinction is made between session cookies, which are deleted as soon as you close your browser, and permanent cookies, which are stored beyond the individual session.

You can find more information about the cookies we set in our Consent Management Tool. There you can also make your individual settings.

To manage the cookies and similar technologies used (tracking pixels, web beacons, etc.) and related consents, we use the consent tool “Real Cookie Banner”. Details on how “Real Cookie Banner” works can be found at <a href=”https://devowl.io/rcb/data-processing/” rel=”noreferrer” target=”_blank”>https://devowl.io/rcb/data-processing/</a>.

The legal basis for the processing of personal data in this context are Art. 6 (1) lit. c GDPR and Art. 6 (1) lit. f GDPR. Our legitimate interest is the management of the cookies and similar technologies used and the related consents.

The provision of personal data is neither contractually required nor necessary for the conclusion of a contract. You are not obliged to provide the personal data. If you do not provide the personal data, we will not be able to manage your consents.

7. Data Security

Personal data is protected by us by means of suitable technical and organisational measures in order to ensure an appropriate level of protection and to safeguard the personal rights of the data subjects. The measures taken serve, among other things, to prevent unauthorised access to the technical equipment used by us and to protect personal data from unauthorised access by third parties. In particular, this website uses SSL or TLS encryption for security reasons and to protect the transmission of confidential content, such as your contact requests that you send to us as the website operator. You can recognise an encrypted connection by the address line of the browser changing from “http://” to “https://” and by the lock symbol in your browser line. If SSL or TLS encryption is activated, the data you transmit to us cannot be read by third parties. Nevertheless, we would like to point out that data transmission on the internet (e.g. when communicating by email) may have security gaps. Complete protection of data against access by third parties is therefore not possible.

8. Updates of our Privacy Policy

Since this data protection notice may change from time to time as a result of legal changes or new functions within the scope of our services, we recommend that you check it regularly.
