Classic Origins - Modern Optics
Glaswerk ONE lenses integrate heritage design principles with modern optical engineering and reliable mechanics to create the classic anamorphic look. They deliver desirable effects like oval bokeh, subtle horizontal flares, and slight barrel distortion while ensuring high performance and consistency for contemporary film productions.
Built for the future, they combine robust mechanical design with modern materials for durability and precision. Innovative metadata integration ensures accurate lens data for virtual production, VFX, and efficient post-production workflows.
Overview
OPTICAL FEATURES
Glaswerk ONE lenses provide character while maintaining cinematographic flexibility. Their consistent optical features—colour reproduction, contrast, bokeh quality, and focus fall-off—enable seamless intercutting between focal lengths without introducing perceptual inconsistencies.
SENSOR COVERAGE
Glaswerk ONE lenses cover beyond VistaVision, featuring an optimised image field of 30.672 x 25.56 mm for a 1:2.4 aspect ratio, ensuring large-format sensor compatibility with edge-to-edge resolution and minimal aberrations.
APERTURE
The 17 rounded blade iris produces exceptionally smooth, oval bokeh at all apertures, minimising polygonal artefacts and delivering natural, organic out-of-focus rendering across all focal lengths.
Focal Lengths
11 Focal Lengths
Glaswerk ONE lenses will be available in 11 precisely matched focal lengths: 25 mm, 32 mm, 40 mm, 50 mm, 60 mm, 75 mm, 100 mm, 135 mm, 180 mm, 230 mm, and 300 mm. This lineup provides full creative coverage for any project.
3 zoom Lenses
Three zoom lenses will be added in the future, covering ranges of 37.5–75 mm, 75–150 mm, and 150–300 mm. These zooms will offer versatile focal length options while maintaining the optical quality and character of the prime lenses.
ConsistEnt Look
All Glaswerk ONE lenses share a consistent optical look, ensuring seamless intercutting across focal lengths and zooms. The unified rendering preserves natural skin tones, smooth focus transitions, and the distinctive anamorphic character throughout the range.
Mechanics
DURABLE
Glaswerk ONE lenses feature a rugged construction for reliable performance in demanding environments. Their lubrication-free plain bearing design maintains consistent resistance, even with temperature changes, ensuring smooth operation at all times.
COMPATIBLE
The interchangeable focus scale supports both metric and imperial units allowing quick adaptation to different production standards. The LPL mount works with leading camera models, while the standardized 114 mm front diameter integrates easily with common accessories.
EASY TO SERVICE
Designed for straightforward maintenance, Glaswerk ONE lenses have easily accessible adjustment elements. Servicing can be carried out not just by specialized technicians but also by trained rental house staff.
To Flare or not to Flare
one
The ONE version is designed for clean, controlled images. Its advanced coatings minimise flares and stray light, giving cinematographers maximum contrast and clarity without unwanted reflections.
one+
ONE+ introduces character with intention. A special coating on one lens element creates a distinct blue horizontal flare, adding a signature anamorphic look while retaining the lens’s sharpness and overall image quality.
flexibility
Choosing ONE or ONE+ does not lock customers into a single flare style. The special coated lens element can be replaced, and customized coatings are possible to match individual project requirements.
So what’s the Look?
Character with Control
Glaswerk lenses offer a distinctive look with controlled flares and vintage-inspired soft oval bokeh. They bring character without sacrificing image clarity, giving cinematographers true creative freedom.
Heritage Meets Modern
These lenses combine the organic, timeless feel of classic anamorphic glass with modern optical precision. The result is a reliable, future-proof tool that honours anamorphic heritage while meeting today’s production standards.
Classic Reimagined
Inspired by the classic anamorphic lenses of the 20th century – reimagined with less distortion, edge-to-edge sharpness, and controllable flares. All of this comes together in a robust design built for today’s demanding productions.
